California Homeowners Struggle With Insurance In Wildfire Areas

California homeowners are having potential threats for wildfires, which is causing the residents to struggle, Data shows that the trend keeps increasing for non-renewals for those that are located in a wildfire area risk. Finding affordable fire insurance across the state has become more and more difficult. Some real estate transactions have even been canceled or stalled! Don’t let this be you! We can get you property insurance for your home, even if it is in the worst fire area.

Since this has been such a problem, the commissioner has set out new rules. One of the new rules states: “An insurer shall not cancel or refuse to renew a policy of residential property insurance for a property located in any zip code within or adjacent to the fire perimeter. for one year after the declaration of a state of emergency, based solely on the fact that the insured structure is located in an area in which a wildfire has occurred.” This means that if you were in a certain zip code, which we will list below, during a certain time, then your policy is going to non-renew or possibly triple in rates. Insurance carriers were trying to non-renew and cancel during the horrific fires last year causing people who lost their homes unable to find homeowners insurance. This new rule forced those insurance carriers to hold out for another year and keep insuring them.
